Salary: Grade 6 - £13.69 - £14.91 per hour (FTE £26,421 - £28,770)
Travel required: Yes – working across multiple sites across the Cheshire East borough
Ansa Environmental Services Ltd is a growing company which is wholly owned by Cheshire East Council.
We are looking to recruit an Arborist to join our busy Arboriculture team. We are looking for somebody who will be committed to providing an effective frontline service to the residents of Cheshire East in a courteous and professional manner.
You will be expected to undertake a variety of tree works both on the parks and open spaces maintained by the company as well as sites relating to commercial contracts.

As a professional Arborist, you will assist in the provision of Ansa’s Arborist Team by:
- Carrying out arboricultural works across the borough, ensuring that work is always carried out effectively and safely
- Safely climbing trees regularly using a variety of climbing aids and systems
- Using full safety and climbing equipment in an approved manner and in accordance with current safety guidelines and industry best practice
- Demonstrating good health & safety practices such as the completion of site risk assessments
- Deploy, operate, and maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and in an effective manner
- Providing an effective response to scheduled and ad hoc tree works that will vary on a day-to-day basis, working in all weather conditions
- Being prepared to work at any site located within the Cheshire East Borough
- Working in a safe and efficient manner following Ansa’s policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices
- Completing all relevant documentation and records (handwritten and electronic) in a timely and comprehensive manner in line with agreed policies and procedures.
In order to apply for this role, applicants should have:
- A full UK driving licence (B+E or C1+E trailer entitlement is desirable, but not essential)
- A good base knowledge in arboricultural operations and practices
- NPTC tree qualifications CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 qualifications or equivalent (CS32, CS40, CS41, CS47 and Mewp operator qualifications are desirable but not essential)
- Certified to operate a Woodchipper
- Knowledge of working at height regulations
- Effective communication skills
- A flexible and can-do attitude
- Emergency at work first aid qualification.
